Lexus Introduces the Turbo-Charged IS 200t

Lexus loyalists have been asking for a turbo version of the IS, and their wish has been granted for 2016 with the IS 200t.   The first-ever IS Turbo features heart-thumbing 241-horsepower turbocharged engine and a highly rigid chassis with track-tuned suspension and a 8-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission.  As a means of comparison, the zero-60 time for the IS 200t is 6.9 seconds, nearly a full second faster than the IS 250.  

With the switch to a turbo 4-cylinder from the outgoing V-6, gas mileage has improved to an EPA-estimated 22/32/26 miles per gallon city/highway/combined.  

Of course, here is still an all-wheel drive version of the IS, the IS 300 and IS 350, which still utilize V-6 engines.  For those even more performance-minded there is an IS 200t F-SPORT, which features the F SPORT-tuned suspension, full face mesh grille and LFA-inspired gauges and bolstered sport seats.
