The Lexus RX first arrived on the scene in 1998, and has become the standard for luxury mid-sized SUV's.  While the exterior for 2016 my be a bid "edgier" with the aggressive grille, the interior is still the epitome of quiet luxury.

The standard engine for the RX is a 3.5-liter V6 with a new 8-speed automatic transmission, producing 295 horsepower and is rated at 28 mpg highway.  The RX 350 starts at an MSRP of $41,900 for the front-wheel driver version, and $43,400 with all-wheel drive.  As with most of the Lexus brand, the RX is also available in a hybrid edition, which rates at an impressive 29 mpg combined city/highway.   For the adventurous types, there is also an "F Sport" version, with sport-tuned suspension, F Sport styleing, and LFA-inspired instrumentation.  AWD is standard on the F Sport.

New Lexus Coupe Will Also Be Available with Hybrid Engine

In addition to all of the excitement about the upcoming Lexus LC 500, it has now been announced that there will also be an LC 500h hybrid version.

This is keeping with the trend that when Lexus introduces a new model, it will be available as a hybrid, and the new flagship coupe is no different.  The LC 500h will join the MX, RX, ES, GS, AND LS, as well as the CT200h, which is only available as a hybrid.

While there are not a lot of details yet, Lexus says that the LC will feature their “next-generation hybrid powertrain, the Lexus Multi-Stage Hybrid System.”

The standard LC500 will be have a 5.0-liter, 467 horsepower engine, coupled with a 10 speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive powertrain.  The latest Lexus hybrid is scheduled to debut in March at the Geneva Auto Show.
